Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 23, 2026

Socialday ("we", "our", or "us") operates the creator discovery and collaboration platform accessible at https://www.socialday.in (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains, in as plain language as a document like this allows, what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have over it — whether you use Socialday as a Customer, a Creator, a member of our own staff, or simply a visitor. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service, which governs your use of the Service more broadly. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. Definitions

A few terms are used consistently throughout this policy:

  • “Customer” means anyone who uses the Service to discover, contact, or book a Creator — an individual, a business, a brand, or a marketing agency acting on a brand's behalf.
  • “Creator” means anyone who registers a public profile on the Service to list services, connect social profiles, and receive bookings — including influencers and content creators.
  • “Staff” means our own internal team members who operate the platform through a separate, permission-gated console. Staff accounts are provisioned by us and are not self-registered.
  • “Personal Data” means any information that identifies or could reasonably be used to identify you.
  • “Booking” means a request a Customer sends to a Creator, and everything that follows it — the message thread, status changes, and any review left afterward.

2. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to everyone who uses Socialday: Customers discovering and booking Creators, Creators who publish a public profile and services, our own internal Staff who use the corporate console to operate the platform, and visitors browsing the site without an account. It covers personal data processed in connection with account creation, use of platform features, bookings and reviews, payments, and communications we send.

This policy does not apply to third-party websites, apps, or services linked from within the platform — most notably, a Creator's own connected social media profiles, which are operated by those platforms under their own privacy terms, not ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you access through or alongside Socialday.

If you're located outside India, please read Section 9 on international data transfers, and Section 12 for rights that may apply specifically to you depending on where you live.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account information — your name, email address, phone number, and password (stored securely, never in plain text) when you register, whether directly or by continuing with Google.
  • Creator profile data — headline, bio, location, categories, avatar and cover images, and any verification details you submit as a Creator seeking a verified badge.
  • Social profiles & services — the handles and stats you connect for platforms including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, and your website or blog, and the services, pricing, content format (for example reels, stories, videos, live streams, or sponsored posts), and delivery timelines you publish against each one.
  • Booking & review content — booking requests, the categories and platforms a Customer selects, thread messages (and any image attached to one), and the ratings and comments left after a completed Booking.
  • Payment & billing information — billing details, plan and subscription selections, booking-credit purchases, and transaction history. Card numbers, UPI credentials, and other sensitive payment credentials are handled directly by our payment processor and are never stored on our own servers.
  • Support & communications — messages you send us directly, through the contact form, or through a support ticket, including anything you attach to help us resolve your query.
  • Location information — the city, state, or region you add to your profile or search filters, so Customers can find Creators near a target location. We don't collect precise GPS location.
  • Preferences — favorites you save, filters you commonly use, and notification or email preferences you set, so the Service can reflect how you actually use it.
  • Verification documents — where a Creator chooses to apply for a verified badge, any supporting document or information submitted as part of that review. This information is used solely to assess the verification request and is handled by a limited number of authorized Staff.

Some of this information is required to create an account or use a specific feature — for example, we can't create a Booking thread without the message you write, and we can't activate a subscription without confirmation from our payment processor that it was paid. Other information, like a profile bio or a phone number, is optional and only collected if you choose to provide it. We try to keep what we ask for proportionate to what a feature actually needs.

3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages visited, searches run, filters applied, and actions taken within the platform, used to understand how the Service is used and where it can be improved.
  • Device & browser information — IP address, browser type, and operating system, collected as a normal part of serving web requests and used for security and troubleshooting.
  • Session & authentication data — secure, encrypted cookies used to keep you signed in across visits.

3.3 Information from third parties

  • Google sign-in — if you choose to continue with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier from Google to create or match your account. We never receive or store your Google password, and we don't request access to any other Google service or data.
  • Our payment processor — payment status, transaction identifiers, and billing confirmation once a payment completes, so we can activate your plan or credits.

3.4 Public information

A Creator's profile, headline, bio, categories, location (city-level), connected social profiles, published services, and public review history are intentionally visible to anyone — including people without an account and search engines. If you register as a Creator, keep this in mind for anything you choose to include on your profile.

3.5 Aggregated and de-identified data

We may create aggregated or de-identified statistics from platform activity — for example, how many bookings happen in a given category or month. This information can't reasonably be used to identify you, and isn't treated as personal data under this policy.

4. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create, authenticate, and secure your account, and connect Customers with Creators.
  • Power search and discovery — matching a Customer's filters against Creator location, category, platform, and audience.
  • Process Booking requests, confirmations, status changes, cancellations, and reviews.
  • Process subscription and booking-credit payments through our payment processor.
  • Send transactional emails: welcome messages, password reset and change notices, Booking sent/received notifications, and review notifications.
  • Respond to support requests, investigate complaints, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Monitor platform health, detect and investigate abuse or fraud, and keep the Service secure.
  • Understand usage patterns so we can fix problems and improve the Service over time.
  • Review Creator verification submissions and moderate content that violates our Terms.
  • Resolve disputes between Customers and Creators when we're asked to help mediate one.
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and valid legal requests.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for advertising or marketing purposes, and we don't use your booking or review content to build advertising profiles. Where we use your information for a purpose not described here, we'll update this policy first, and where the law requires your consent for that new purpose, we'll ask for it.

5. Legal basis for processing

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, we rely on one or more of the following, depending on the activity:

  • Performance of a contract — processing your account, profile, and Booking data is necessary to provide the Service you've signed up for. Without this, we simply can't operate your account or connect you with the other side of the marketplace.
  • Legitimate interests — for usage data, security monitoring, and fraud prevention, in operating, improving, and protecting the platform and its users, balanced against your rights and expectations.
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data, such as payment and tax records, to comply with applicable law.
  • Consent — for optional marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time without affecting the emails necessary for your account (see Section 13).

6. How we share your information

6.1 Between Customers and Creators

A Booking necessarily involves sharing information between the two people involved in it. When you send or receive a Booking request, the other party sees the name, message, and the categories or platforms selected — that's the whole point of the feature, and it's not something we can provide the Service without.

6.2 Service providers we rely on

We rely on trusted third-party service providers to operate the platform: a payment processor for subscription and booking-credit payments, cloud infrastructure providers for our database and file storage, an email delivery provider for transactional email, and Google, if you choose to sign in with your Google account. Each is bound by their own privacy practices and, where applicable, a data processing agreement with us — none of them receive more information than they need to do their job, and none of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

6.3 Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or a valid request from a government or regulatory authority, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Socialday, our users, or the public.

6.4 Business transfers

If we're involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll give notice — by email or a prominent notice on the platform — before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy as a result.

6.5 With your consent

We may share information for any other purpose with your explicit, informed consent.

7. Account types & data separation

Socialday has three separate account types — Customer, Creator, and internal Staff — each with its own login and session, and each seeing only what its role is meant to see. A Creator's public profile, services, and social links are visible to everyone by design; a Customer's Booking and message history is visible only to them and the relevant Creator, never to other Customers or unrelated Creators.

Internal Staff access is governed by role-based permissions: a Staff member can only see and act on the data their assigned role allows, and administrative actions taken through the corporate console are recorded for accountability. Staff accounts exist solely to operate and moderate the platform — support requests, verification review, and content moderation — not to browse user data for any other purpose.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

8.1 Essential cookies

We use session cookies that keep you signed in between page loads and visits. These are strictly necessary for the Service to function — without them, we couldn't recognize you as logged in, and you'd need to sign in again on every page. They expire and refresh automatically and can't be disabled without signing you out.

8.2 What we don't use

We don't use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or ad-network analytics. We don't build advertising profiles, run retargeting campaigns, or sell browsing data to anyone. If that ever changes, we'll update this section and, where required, ask for your consent first.

8.3 Managing cookies

Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through their settings. Because our essential cookies are required for sign-in, blocking them will sign you out and may prevent parts of the Service from working.

9. International data transfers

Socialday is operated from India, and most of our users and Creators are based in India. Our infrastructure providers may nonetheless store and process data in other countries as part of providing reliable, globally-distributed cloud services. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we do so under appropriate safeguards recognized by applicable data protection law — such as standard contractual clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism, where required. If you have questions about a specific transfer, contact us using the details in Section 22.

10. Data retention

  • We retain your account, profile, and activity data for as long as your account remains active, or as reasonably needed to provide the Service.
  • If you request account deletion, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we're required to retain specific records by law.
  • Financial and transaction records — invoices, payment confirmations, and billing history — are retained for as long as applicable tax and accounting law requires, which is typically longer than the life of your account.
  • Booking and review content tied to a completed transaction may be retained even after one party deletes their account, since it forms part of the other party's record of that transaction and may still be relevant to a dispute.
  • Password reset tokens and similar one-time links expire automatically and can only be used once.
  • Support tickets and correspondence with us are retained long enough to handle follow-up questions and maintain a record of how an issue was resolved.
  • Verification documents submitted by a Creator are retained only for as long as needed to complete the review and to keep a record that verification took place, then handled according to our general retention practice for account data.

11. How we protect your information

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections between your browser and our servers, secure storage of passwords and session credentials, and internal safeguards that limit our own systems and Staff to only the data and actions their role requires. Access to production systems is restricted to the people who need it to do their jobs, and we review our practices as the Service grows.

Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. You play a role too: keep your account credentials confidential, use a strong and unique password, and notify us immediately at hello@socialday.in if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

12. Your privacy rights

12.1 Rights available to you

Wherever applicable data protection law grants you rights over your personal data, you can ask us to: give you access to the personal data we hold about you; correct data that's inaccurate or incomplete; delete your personal data, subject to our retention obligations in Section 10; restrict or object to certain processing; or provide your data in a structured, commonly used, portable format. Most profile and account details can also be updated directly from your settings at any time, without needing to contact us at all.

12.2 If you're in the EEA or UK

If applicable European or UK data protection law applies to you, you have the rights described above under the GDPR, plus the right to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

12.3 If you're a California resident

If the CCPA or CPRA applies to you, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request deletion or correction of it, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of a sale of.

12.4 If you're in India

We aim to handle your personal data consistent with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and its accompanying rules. You can reach our grievance contact directly using the details in Section 20 for any complaint about how your personal data is handled.

12.5 How to exercise your rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@socialday.in with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and we aim to respond within 30 days. Some rights may be limited where an exception applies — for example, where we're legally required to keep a record.

13. Marketing communications & email preferences

We may send Creators and Customers occasional product updates or tips. You can ask to be unsubscribed at any time from the Unsubscribe page or by emailing us, and we honor the request promptly. Opting out never affects transactional emails necessary for your account, like Booking notifications, review notifications, or password resets — those aren't marketing, and you'll continue to receive them as long as your account is active.

14. Do Not Track signals

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there's no common industry standard for how sites should respond to it, we don't currently change our behavior based on that signal — though as described in Section 8, we already don't use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking regardless of your browser settings.

15. Automated decision-making

We don't make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling. Search results and rankings are based on the filters and criteria you or the searching Customer choose, not on an automated assessment of you as a person.

16. Data breach notification

If a personal data breach occurs that's likely to put your rights or freedoms at risk, we'll notify affected users without undue delay, describing what happened, what categories of data were involved, the likely consequences, and the steps we've taken or plan to take — and we'll notify the relevant regulator where applicable law requires it.

17. Children's privacy

Socialday is intended for use by people 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 18, and Creator and Customer accounts both require confirming you meet this age requirement. If we become aware that we've inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we'll take prompt steps to delete it — contact us at hello@socialday.in if you believe a child has provided us with personal information.

18. Sensitive personal data

We don't ask for or knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal data — such as information about health, religion, caste, sexual orientation, or biometric identifiers — as part of normal use of the Service. Please don't include this kind of information in your profile, bio, Booking messages, or reviews.

19. Links to third-party sites

The platform links to third-party sites and services — most notably, a Creator's own connected social media profiles, and our payment processor at checkout. This policy doesn't apply to those third-party destinations, and we're not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site before sharing information with it.

20. Grievance officer

In accordance with applicable Indian information technology law, we've designated a contact point for privacy and data protection complaints. You can reach this contact at hello@socialday.in with the subject line “Grievance” or “Privacy Request.” We aim to acknowledge grievances promptly and resolve them within the timeline applicable law requires.

21. Accuracy of your information

You're responsible for keeping the information on your account and profile accurate and up to date — an out-of-date phone number, service price, or location doesn't just affect your own experience, it can affect a Customer or Creator on the other side of a Booking who relies on it. If any of your account information changes, please update it directly from your settings as soon as you're able to.

22. Staff and internal data

Where our own internal Staff use the Service as employees or contractors of Socialday, we process the personal data reasonably necessary to manage that relationship — including account credentials, role and permission assignments, and records of administrative actions taken through the corporate console. This information is used only for internal operational and security purposes and is subject to the same general protections described throughout this policy.

23. Relationship to our Terms of Service

This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, which governs your use of the Service more broadly — including acceptable use, billing, and liability. Where this policy specifically addresses personal data and the Terms address something else, both apply; if the two conflict on a matter of data handling, this Privacy Policy controls.

24. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Service, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we'll update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy; if you don't agree with a change, you should stop using the Service and may request account deletion by contacting us.

25. Contact us
